CIO Advisory

My advisory work is shaped by experience, not theory. I have led large, federated IT organisations across multiple industries and geographies, operating at board level and within highly complex operating models. I understand the realities of legacy environments, competing priorities, constrained budgets and the political dynamics that come with senior roles.
As an advisor, I act as a critical friend: someone who listens carefully, challenges constructively, and helps leaders see situations more clearly. I bring structure without rigidity, and perspective without prescription.
I typically support CIOs and executive teams with:
-
IT and digital strategy definition and refinement
-
IT operating model and shared services design
-
Technology-enabled transformation and execution oversight
-
Smart manufacturing and IT/OT alignment
-
Stakeholder alignment across federated or global organisations
-
Navigating moments of change, pressure or inflection

My approach is pragmatic and outcome-focused. I help leaders cut through noise, prioritise what truly matters, and make decisions they can stand behind. Where appropriate, I draw on coaching skills to support thinking and leadership effectiveness—but always in service of delivery and impact.

What clients value
Clients work with me because I:
-
Bring real-world CIO experience, not abstract advice
-
Understand the political, cultural and organisational context of senior roles
-
Balance strategic thinking with operational realism
-
Challenge respectfully and directly
-
Remain independent, confidential and trusted
I am comfortable working one-to-one with CIOs, alongside executive teams, or in advisory roles supporting boards and transformation programmes.
I work transparently, contract clearly, and remain focused on sustainable outcomes. My role is not to own decisions, but to strengthen the quality of thinking behind them—so leaders can move forward with confidence
